Less than a day after announcing the dismissal of Peter Laviolette, the Nasvhille Preds hired John Hynes as their new head coach.
Hynes, who was previously the head coach of the New Jersey Devils from 2015 until last month, is a Rhode Island native who attended Boston University.
So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Hynes is a New England Patriots fan.
Excuse me, he was a Patriots fan.
Hynes addressed his Patriots fandom during his introductory press conference on Tuesday, saying “I was a huge Patriots fan, but as of last Sunday, Go Titans”.

That’s certainly one way to win over fans in Nashville.
Though the best way to win fans will be to engineer a second half surge for the Preds, who are currently sixth in the central division.
It’s a tall task, but perhaps Hynes can help the Preds find some magic and make some noise this spring.
