Breaking news from a college basketball team on a night when no game has been played is rarely good news. This is true for the Vols hoops team on Tuesday night.
Rick Barnes has dismissed Detrick Mostella from the program for a “violation of team rules” according to Rob Lewis of Volquest.
Unfortunate development for Tennessee hoops, second leading Detrick Mostella has been dismissed from the team.

In a school-released statement, Barnes said:
“I’ve always been very clear about the standards that members of this program will be held to. Those standards are very high, and Detrick unfortunately has not lived up to them.”
The junior guard is second on the team in scoring averaging 10.5 points per game. Countless times during his career, Mostella has come off the bench to give the Vols a spark. He averaged 18 points per game in Tennessee’s three games in the SEC Tournament last spring.
Needless to say, this is a blow to the young UT team. Tennessee hosts South Carolina Wednesday before traveling to play Vanderbilt in Nashville on Saturday.
