The Vanderbilt Commodores (9-13, 0-9) failed to get their first SEC win of the season on the road when they narrowly lost to the Arkansas Razorbacks (14-8, 5-4), 69-66.

The first half set the tone of the game and showed that the SEC opponents would play a tight game. The Commodores went into halftime leading by one, 35-34.

The second half carried the same tone as the first half, leading to a nail-biting conclusion to the game.

With 34 seconds remaining in the game, Vandy led by two (66-64). However, the Razorbacks immediately hit a big three pointer, which forced the ‘Dores to foul.

Arkansas was good enough on their free throw opportunities and ended up winning the game 69-66.

Vanderbilt was led in points by Joe Toye (18 points, 4 rebounds, 0 assists), in rebounds by Simisola Shittu (12, 8, 2), and in assists by Saben Lee (11, 1, 4).
