One of the Tennessee Vols’ top 2019 recruiting targets is set to announce his commitment this week.

Four-star wide receiver Ramel Keyton will make his decision on Wednesday. He’s expected to be choosing from Auburn, Ole Miss, Penn State and Tennessee.

Keyton, 6-foot-3/186 pounds from Marietta, GA, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 16 player in the state of Georgia and the No. 27 wide receiver in the nation.

Keyton is viewed as a player that can stretch the field and make explosive plays for the Volunteers. He’s a game changing talent that Tennessee desperately needs on their roster.

Fortunately for the Vols, they have the inside track to landing Keyton.

According to VolQuest, Keyton’s had a good relationship with Tennessee since the Butch Jones days. Grad assistant Caleb Cox, who was on staff under Jones and was retained by Jeremy Pruitt, has a solid relationship with Keyton, which should greatly help the Vols.

Tennessee’s biggest competition for Keyton is likely Auburn (he hasn’t even visited Penn State), but I think the Vols are in pretty good shape here.

I’d actually be surprised if Keyton didn’t commit to Tennessee on Wednesday. His deep relationship with the folks on Rocky Top, plus the promise of early playing time, will probably be too much for the other programs on his shortlist to overcome.

The Vols currently have six commits to their 2019 recruiting class.
