From a distance, it’s easy to think the Panthers won’t be tough for the Titans to take down this Sunday in Charlotte. Don’t be fooled by Carolina’s blowout loss to the 49ers or the fact that they have an undrafted second year quarterback; this Panthers team is not half bad.

Kyle Allen is 4-1 this year as the Panthers starter while Carolina also features one of the best passing defenses in all of football. James Bradberry has quietly been one of the most lockdown corners in the league this year. Donte Jackson is also one of the most athletic DB’s in the NFL.

The real talent is the linebackers though. Luke Kuechly does exactly what you expect, but he’s been helped by Shaq Thompson who has exceeded all expectations this year. They are joined by Brian Burns who makes a strong case for defensive rookie of the year.

What does all of this spell? Bad news for the Titans.

One could argue that the Titans have found their rhythm with Ryan Tannehill and will win this weekend. After watching years of Titans football though, I have learned one thing – right when you start thinking the Titans are cruising, they get a giant reality check. This weekend will be that check.

In their last 24 games on the road against teams with winning records, the Titans are 7-17 against the spread. To add to that, the Panthers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games.

This week’s pick (to the dismay of many Titans fans) is take the Panthers -3.5.

We are 4/5 on our Titans gambling picks so far this season. We’ll check back in next week!
