Frederick Gaudreau, C
In what was a disappointing year for the Milwaukee Admirals as a team, Freddy Gaudreau scored 22 goals and 43 points in 54 games. He was arguably their best forward, night after night.
Gaudreau, the unsung hero of the 2017 Stanley Cup Final, finds himself on the outside of a stacked roster. It will take a bit more than just an excellent training camp to make the roster. A preseason injury to a bottom six forward? Or perhaps he is replacement for Austin Watson, who will be serving a 27-game suspension?
Gaudreau brings a speedy, two-way game with a lot of versatility. He can take face-offs, bring an edge on the wing, and even serve time on the penalty kill if needed.
Roster prediction: He’s in Milwaukee to start the season, but finds himself at the top of the list for AHL call-ups during the season.
