After the most successful regular season in franchise history, the Nashville Predators are back from summer break and ready to prepare for the 2018-19 season.
Training camp for the Predators opened on Thursday. While training camp is usually a chance to see new faces and new line combinations finally together on the ice, the Predators open this year’s camp with considerably less intrigue.
As you’ll recall, the Predators were largely inactive this past summer. Apart from signing Ryan Ellis to an eight-year, $50 million dollar extension in July and signing all of their restricted free agents, the Preds did very little to change the roster from last year. They did sign veteran defenseman Dan Hamhuis, but that’s about it.
But three guys stand out as players to keep an eye on during training camp. Two are simply hoping their name is first on the list for roster call-ups during the season. The other is fighting to prove he belongs on the opening night roster.
