The Tennessee Volunteers (25-3, 13-2) narrowly skated by the Ole Miss Rebels (19-9, 9-6) on the road, 73-71.

The game kicked off very unexpectedly- John Fulkerson was the Vols’ leading scorer for the better part of the first half.

The Vols were able to contain the Rebels’ unorthodox offense at the beginning of the first half, but seemed to be confused by the end.

Due to this confusion (and the Vols’ offensive struggles), Tennessee went into halftime trailing Ole Miss, 39-34

Lamonte Turner flipped a switch coming out of halftime and scored seven points to open the second half, giving Tennessee the lead.

The game continued to be a back-and-forth affair for the majority of the second half, with neither team able to gain much an advantage over the other.

Clutch plays from Jordan Bowden, Grant Williams, and Admiral Schofield ended up sealing the deal for the Vols, who barely escaped Oxford with a win.
