The Tennessee Volunteers (26-3, 14-2) dominated the Kentucky Wildcats (24-5, 13-3) at home, leading to a 71-52 win.

It looked like the Vols were in trouble in the opening minutes of the game. The team allowed Kentucky to go on a 6-0 run, but quickly answered and started its own 7-0 run.

The Volunteers led for the majority of the first half, but seemed to never be able to completely capitalize on Kentucky’s mistakes.

The Vols went into halftime leading the Wildcats, 37-24.

The Vols came out of the second half on fire and distanced themselves from Big Blue. It started to become apparent that Tennessee wasn’t just looking for a win- they wanted to make a statement.

The Vols continued to lead the ‘Cats throughout the remainder of the game and finished with a statement win in the SEC.
