The Tennessee Volunteers advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament by beating the Iowa Hawkeyes in overtime, 83-77.

Everything was sunny for the Vols at Nationwide Arena in the first half. By the end of the first half, Tennessee: led by 21 points, was decisively winning the turnover battle, and got Admiral Schofield off to a hot start.

However, the entire tone of the game changed in the second half. The Vols struggled offensively to start the second half — a mistake that Iowa took advantage of.

The Hawkeyes proceeded to outscore the Vols 43-22 and completely dictate the flow of the game for the majority of the second half. Despite the sudden turn of events, Tennessee hung on to their lead long enough to the force the game into overtime.

Iowa had a costly turnover to open up overtime and that was enough to fire up the Vols. All of the momentum in the game swung back to the Volunteers, leading to a victory that was too close for comfort for Tennessee fans.
