The Tennessee Vols’ 2018-19 season can best be described as special.

Not only has Tennessee produced enviable results on the court this year, but they’ve also been a fun team to watch on, and off, the court.

The chemistry on this Vols basketball team is simply incredible. While most teams end up being close, there’s something different about this version of UT’s basket-Vols.

The closeness of the team and the fantastic regular season will be something Tennessee’s players will remember forever.

But if the Vols aren’t cutting down the nets on April 8 — even if they reach the Final Four — Tennessee’s players will feel like their tournament run was a disappointment.

Junior guard Lamonte Turner was very vocal about the Vols’ goals when speaking to reporters this week. And he was candid in describing how the team would feel if they aren’t the last team standing.

It sounds like the Vols are dialed in and focused as they prepare to erase the pain of last year’s second round exit.

A championship would certainly be the perfect cap to the Vols’ memorable season. But a lot of other teams are having those same thoughts right about now.

Tennessee will just have to prove they want it more.
