There was a report earlier this week from WMNL’s Jimmy Hyams that Tennessee Vols wide receivers coach Tee Martin turned down an offer to join Lane Kiffin’s staff at Ole Miss.
Tennessee assistant Tee Martin has decided to stay at UT and not accept offensive coordinator offer from Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, per a source.

However, according to a report from The Athletic’s David Ubben on Wednesday, Martin might still be in play at Ole Miss (or other programs).
Ubben said the situation is “more fluid than some reports would have readers believe”.
The general feeling is that Martin doesn’t see a way to advance on Jeremy Pruitt’s staff. That would make a lot of sense, given that Jim Chaney is viewed as a long term offensive coordinator at Tennessee. It’s no secret that Martin is hoping to be a head coach one day. It wouldn’t be surprising if he makes a move so he can climb the coaching ladder.
Of course, I don’t think Martin will take just any job. Returing to UT was a big deal for him. I don’t think Martin will eschew his alma mater for a lateral move.
