One of the nation’s top 2020 recruits, five-star wide receiver Rakim Jarrett, will officially visit the Tennessee Vols this weekend.

Jarrett, 6-foot/208 lbs, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 2 player in Washington D.C. and the No. 3 wide receiver in the nation.

The dynamic wide receiver is currently committed to LSU, but the Vols are making a strong push. In fact, I think fans should officially be on “decommit watch” after Jarrett’s official visit concludes.

Jarrett has reportedly developed a close relationship with Tennessee wide receivers coach Tee Martin. He’s also close friends with 2020 UT quarterback commit Harrison Bailey.

247Sports describes Jarrett as a potential day two NFL draft pick, noting that he has “elite speed and stop-start ability”.

Flipping a five-star recruit from LSU would be huge for the Volunteers for a couple of reasons. For one, it would be another great player added to Tennessee’s roster. But it would also be massive for recruiting. If UT is flipping stud recruits from a recruiting monster like LSU, then other elite recruits across the nation are going to sit up and take notice.

Maryland is also in the mix to flip Jarrett from LSU. But for now it looks like the Vols might be the team to beat.
