Former Tennessee Vols running back Jay Graham, who is currently in his second stint as UT’s running backs coach, received his first on-the-field Power-five assistant coaching role from Steve Spurrier in 2009.
Graham served under Spurrier on South Carolina’s staff from 2009-2010 as the Gamecocks’ running backs coach.
During that time, Graham was responsible for helping South Carolina land stud running back Marcus Lattimore, a five-star recruit who was one of the most sought after players in the nation.
Spurrier recently retold the story of how South Carolina landed Lattimore, and it involved Graham, the Cha-Cha Slide and an in-home visit.
Here’s Spurrier telling the story to SEC Network’s Laura Rutledge.
What was Steve Spurrier’s secret to recruiting @MarcusLattimore? The Cha Cha Slide 🕺

Let’s hope Graham is able to get Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt to do the Cha-Cha slide to land a recruit.
We already know Pruitt isn’t afraid to show off his dance moves to aid his recruiting efforts.
