Not long after the Tennessee Vols secured the No. 20 class in the nation during 2018 recruiting cycle, several media analysts referred to Jeremy Pruitt’s recruiting as a “letdown”.
I have a feeling those folks are eating their words right about now.
On Wednesday, the Vols landed a commitment from 2019 four-star wide receiver Ramel Keyton. The Marietta, GA native is rated by 247Sports as the No. 27 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 16 player in the state of Georgia.

The addition of Keyton, a dynamic playmaker who has the potential be a star at Tennessee, comes just a couple of weeks after the Volunteers landed five-star offensive tackle Wanya Morris.
Landing a couple of elite recruits like Keyton and Morris could end up lifting Tennessee recruiting to new heights. Other top recruits will absolutely start to take notice of what the Vols, and Pruitt, are doing on Rocky Top.
The Vols have also apparently made an impression on one of the nation’s top recruits, Quarvaris Crouch. The North Carolina native recently posted a video where he’s sporting some UT shorts.
Does that mean he’s going to commit to the Vols?
No, not necessarily.
But Crouch’s flirtation with Tennessee will almost certainly have a positive impact on recruiting.
And who knows, with the hot streak the Vols are currently riding, they might end up landing a few more elite recruits.
