2020 three-star offensive lineman Javontez Spraggins announced on Friday that he’s “746 percent” committed to the Tennessee Vols.

Spraggins, 6-foot-3/336 lbs from East St. Louis, Illinois (the same hometown as former Vols head basketball coach Cuonzo Martin), is rated by 247Sports as the No. 16 player in the state of Illinois and the No. 53 offensive guard in the nation.

The Illinois native committed to Tennessee over offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Missouri and Wyoming.

Spraggins isn’t a highly rated player by what you would expect Jeremy Pruitt’s standards to be (No. 882 overall 2020 recruit), but that just speaks to the lack of size/depth that Tennessee currently has on their offensive line. The Vols need some beef and Spraggins, at 336 lbs, will certainly provide that for UT.

With Spraggins’ commitment, Tennessee now has seven commits to their 2020 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 36 in the nation. There are a little over six months to go until the early signing period begins.
