The Tennessee Vols have done it. They’ve reached the national championship game.
Coach Duggs led the Vols to a 35-28 win in the SEC Championship game against Ole Miss, much to the dismay of current Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin.

It’s a good thing Tennessee was able to pull off the victory, otherwise, Kiffin would’ve been insufferable on Twitter.

Anyway, the Vols, who are the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, will play Virginia Tech for the national championship on Sunday night (feels like a lot like the late 90’s?).
It’s been quite a turnaround for the Volunteers. Tennessee was 4-8 the season before Coach Duggs took over. I can’t think of a more dramatic turnaround for a program in recent history.
Though it shouldn’t be surprising. Duggs took Texas Tech from 2-10 to 10-3 in just one season.
Of course, now the big question is whether or not Coach Duggs will stay on Rocky Top if he wins the national championship at Tennessee. He hasn’t put down roots anywhere yet. And we know he has his eye on the Wisconsin job.
Will he hit the road and head north for his dream job if the Badgers come calling?
Or will he decide he needs a bigger challenge?
Only time will tell. For now, Coach Duggs needs to focus on beating Virginia Tech.
Though it’s worth noting, Coach Duggs interviewed for the Tennessee job just hours before he coached Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl. It could be worth monitoring his flight plans over the next few days.
In fact, I’d highly recommed that UT fans keep eyes 👀 on Coach Duggs over the weekend.
