The Tennessee Vols are continuing to build a major recruiting presence in North Carolina.

And Jay Graham, who recently took over as the Vols’ running backs coach, is a big reason why.

2021 three-star running back Jaylen Wright, 6-foot/190 lbs from Durham, NC, told Rivals over the weekend that Tennessee is his top school right now. And he cited his relationship with Graham as one of the biggest factors.

“It’s good and the fact that he knows where I am from. He’s from where I am from…..We have a good connection and a good relationship”, said Wright to Rivals.

The North Carolina native is a speedster who also plans to run track in college.

Wright has an impressive size/speed combination that could be lethal at the next level.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wright get elevated to four-star status in the near future. Especially now with Tennessee showing significant interest (I imagine Jeremy Pruitt’s reputation for evaluating kids will make recruiting services take a second look).

The Vols currently have seven players committed to their 2021 recruiting class.
