It’s not often that major programs find hidden gems in recruiting, but the Tennessee Vols are hoping they found one in Lake Butler, FL with one of their latest offers.
Tennessee recently offered 2020 defensive tackle Agelu Nunu, a player who hasn’t generated a lot of buzz in the sunshine state.

The 6-foot-2/320 lb defensive tackle hasn’t been rated by any of the major recruiting services, despite holding offers from Arizona, FAU and Southern Mississippi, among several others.
After attending a 3 stripe camp in Orlando last year, Nunu was described by Rivals as a “brute” who has “the skills to back up his strength”. Rivals reported that Nunu benched pressed 185 lbs a camp record 41 times.
Nunu also displayed some candid confidence when asked about his expectations at the camp, saying he expected “that the athletes attending the Rivals 3 Stripe event are ready to compete”.
It definitely sounds like Nunu isn’t lacking in the confidence department, which is important for any recruit who hopes to play in the SEC.
I don’t know how long Nunu will stay under-the-radar now that he’s received an offer from Tennessee, but the Vols might have found a hidden gem deep in Florida.
