The Tennessee Vols extended a scholarship offer to four-star wide receiver Gary Bryant on Monday.

Bryant, 5-foot-10/160 lbs from Corona, CA (Centennial), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 12 player in the state of California and the No. 17 wide receiver in the nation.

In addition to his recent offer from Tennessee, Bryant also holds notable offers from Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford and USC, among others.

Interestingly, Vols assistant coach Tee Martin was listed as Bryant’s recruiter at USC, so it would appear there’s already a connection there.

Of course, it’s not like Jeremy Pruitt is clueless when it comes to recruiting in California. Since arriving at Tennessee in late 2017, Pruitt has already convinced several players to leave the Golden State for Rocky Top, including JT Shrout, Jordan Allen and Henry To’oto’o.

Play of the week at the SoCal Opening Regional

It’s easy to see what the Vol staff loves about Bryant. Check out this top play he made against 2020 five-star recruit Elias Ricks (the top 2020 cornerback in the nation).

Skip ahead to the 1:40 mark.

He zipped past one of the top cornerbacks in the nation like it was nothing. 🔥🔥🔥
