The Tennessee Vols are one of several major college football programs getting in the mix early for 2022 dual-threat quarterback Ty Simpson.
The 6-foot-1/170 pound signal caller from Martin, TN (Westview) tweeted on Tuesday evening that he received an offer from the Volunteers.

Kentucky, LSU, Michigan and Mississippi State have also offered Simpson.
It seems a bit out of character for Pruitt to offer a player this young, but he didn’t really have a choice. Simpson will likely be one of the top 2022 players in the state of Tennessee. Pruitt has to start building a solid relationship with Simpson as soon as possible — especially with other SEC schools already offering the talented quarterback.
Clearly this kid can play. He has good zip on his passes for an eighth grader, and he has excellent field awareness. He kind of has a Josh Dobbs like quality when he’s rushing the ball.
The upside for Simpson is out of this world. It will certainly be fun to watch him develop during his high school career.
It probably won’t be long before schools like Alabama and Georgia are in the mix for him as well.
