Tennessee Vols linebacker Henry To’o To’o is still a young college football player (he’s only a sophomore), but he’s already one of UT’s most important leaders.
To’ To’o, a California native who signed with the Vols as a four-star recruit in 2019, is set to be the quarterback of Tennessee’s defense in 2020. He’ll take over the middle linebacker spot that was vacated by Daniel Bituli.
I can’t think of a better option to patrol the middle of the field for Tennessee than To’ To’o.
And it’s not just because of his physical abilities and his high football IQ. It’s also because he’s an incredible leader who inspires confidence in his teammates.
To’o To’o has an undeniable belief in his teammates. He has their back, no matter what.
Henry To’o To’o talks up his teammates
On Tuesday, during a virtual media session with reporters, To’o To’o was asked who the toughest ball carrier is on the Vols’ roster.
Not only did To’o To’o not single out a player, but he talked up the entire unit.
“All of our backs, in my opinion. We’ve got the best backs in the country,” said To’o To’o. “I’ve got so much confidence in them, that they’re going to do what they need to do to get us a win on Saturday.”
It wasn’t just the running backs that To’o To’o expressed confidence in. He also talked up Tennessee’s freshmen.
“Every single freshman that we have on this team is going to do a tremendous job executing for us,” explained To’o To’o.
This is how a leader handles himself. I think it’s clear that To’o To’o’s leadership abilities are beyond elite — which is amazing for such a young player.
To’o To’o is just scratching the surface of how good he can be. It’s going to be fun to watch his progression in 2020 and beyond.
