Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Jim Chaney has always been one of the best personalities in college football.
Chaney’s quick wit is always good for a few laughs. And that was the case on Monday when the UT offensive coordinator spoke at the Knoxville Quarterback Club.
While speaking on Monday, Chaney made it clear that he loves Vol running backs Ty Chandler and Eric Gray.
In fact, he loves them so much that he expects at least one of them to be on the field for Tennessee at all times.
And if that doesn’t happen?
Then something has gone terribly wrong.
“You’re going to see Ty and Eric out there all the time. If they’re off the field, I’ve either had a heart attack or something’s happened,” quipped Chaney.

Chaney’s right. One of those guys needs to be on the field on every play for Tennessee.
Chandler and Gray are two of the most electric players on the team. Both of them are a threat to score every time they touch the ball.
“Splash plays” will be extremely important this season as the Vols’ play a conference-only schedule.
And I think it’s clear that the Chandler/Gray combo is Tennessee’s best big-play threat.
