Tennessee Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt dropped his most candid quote to date on Wednesday night during Vol calls.

After a season opening loss to Georgia State, Pruitt told a caller that Tennessee probably has a few players that aren’t “with us” and that they “need to get out of our way”.

Here’s the full quote, and audio, via Fox Sports Knoxville’s Trey Wallace.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pruitt announced that defensive back Terrell Bailey and wide receiver Jordan Murphy had left the program.

I would assume those are two of the players that Pruitt was referencing.

It will be quite interesting to see if any other players leave the program in the coming weeks. Because if Pruitt’s correct, there will definitely be a few more departures.

Pruitt has a massive uphill climb ahead of him if he’s going to restore Tennessee to glory. And it’s clear that while he’s made progress on the broken culture that Butch Jones left behind, he still has a long way to go before it’s fully fixed.
