Tennessee Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt, who coached at the high school level for nearly a decade, isn’t about to let his connections to Alabama high schools go to waste.
On Saturday, the Vols offered 2021 running back Dylan Pauley.

Pauley, who hasn’t been rated yet by the major recruiting services, attends Hoover High School in Hoover, AL.
Pruitt coached at Hoover from 2004-2006. It was during his stint at Hoover that Pruitt was featured on the show “Two-a-Days” and made his infamous comment about his lack of knowledge of asparagus.
I can’t believe Pruitt hasn’t been asked about asparagus during a media session yet. Perhaps once the grind of fall camp hits, Pruitt will entertain a question or two about his favorite vegetable.
But back to Pauley, a 6-foot-1/215 pound tail back. South Carolina was the first to offer the Alabama native, but the Vols are the only other team that’s offered him so far.
It’s hard to glean much from Pauley’s short highlight clips, but he appears to be a quick, elusive runner that runs downhill.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Pauley eventually receives a four-star rating from Rivals/247Sports.
And if that’s the case, the Volunteers will be glad they were one of the first teams to offer the talented running back.
