Technically speaking, Tennessee Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt didn’t dress up for Halloween.
But Pruitt was definitely a character for Halloween.
The former Alabama defensive coordinator did his best Bill Belichick impression on Wednesday evening, revealing he didn’t care much for Halloween as a kid.
I asked Jeremy Pruitt this evening if he had a favorite Halloween costume from his childhood.
Well, I tried.

That’s the most Belichick answer from someone other than Belichick that I’ve ever heard.
Nick Saban, Pruitt’s former boss, does a pretty good Belichick impression, but I think Pruitt has him beat here.
Pruitt’s answer on Wednesday evening sounded like it could’ve been straight from a Belichick press conference compilation.
Tennessee fans probably wouldn’t mind if Pruitt continues his Belichick impression through the rest of the season. The Vols need three wins to reach bowl eligibility.
UT should win on Saturday against Charlotte, but as Pruitt pointed out on Wednesday, the 49ers have a better record than Tennessee.
#Vols coach Jeremy Pruitt: Why would our guys look past (Charlotte)? They have a better record and better stats than we do.

If the Vols can get past Charlotte on Saturday, they’ll have to win two out of three against Missouri, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
Reaching a bowl game is very doable for the Vols, but it’s far from a certainty.
