Tennessee Vols quarterback Jarrett Guarantano tweeted on Tuesday evening that he has “unfinished business” at UT, indicating he’ll return to Rocky Top for his redshirt senior season.

There was speculation that Guarantano would either declare for the NFL draft or transfer to another program (Rutgers was a rumored possibility, where his father played).

But it appears that Guarantano wants to spend his final season of eligibility on Rocky Top.

The beleaguered quarterback has a good relationship with Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt, despite his struggles during the season.

Of course, without Guarantano, the Volunteers likely don’t reach a bowl game.

With Guarantano back in the mix, it leaves Tennessee with an extremely crowded quarterback room. JT Shrout and Brian Maurer are already on the roster, along with Maryland transfer Kasim Hill.

Harrison Bailey and Jimmy Holiday are incoming freshman who will also compete for quarterback reps. Bailey is a four-star stud recruit who is expected to be the savior of the program.

I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see a transfer or two in the coming days/weeks.
