The Tennessee Vols don’t really have any household names on their roster, but that could be changing after the 2020 season.
Sophomore linebacker Henry To’ To’o was named this week by 247Sports as one of the best players in college football that “no one is talking about”.
Here’s what 247Sports had to say about To’o To’o.
One of the nation’s top linebackers in last year’s signing class, To’o To’o made an instant impact in the SEC after finishing second on the Vols with 72 tackles over 12 starts. But he’s not just one of Tennessee’s most important players players entering his sophomore campaign — he is arguably a Top 10 performer at his position nationally. Still, much of the credit during the Vols’ second-half resurgence last fall rested on other, more well-known Tennessee starters and Jeremy Pruitt’s notable turnaround. Pruitt would be the first to tell you his defense will go as far as To’o To’o takes it this season in his third year in Knoxville.
To’o To’o signed with the Vols as a four-star recruit during the 2019 recruiting cycle, choosing Tennessee over Alabama and Washington, among several other programs.
The California native was rated as the No. 3 outside linebacker in the nation and the No. 44 overall 2019 recruit (247Sports composite).
To’o To’o is expected to be the “quarterback” of the Vols’ defense in 2020.
