Four-star wide receiver E.J. Williams, one of the Tennessee Vols’ top 2020 recruiting targets, will visit Knoxville on April 13 for UT’s annual spring game.

Williams, 6-foot-3/188 lbs from Phenix City, AL, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 player in the state of Alabama and the No. 19 wide receiver in the nation.

The Alabama native, who visited Knoxville in early March, is being recruited to Tennessee by wide receivers coach Tee Martin and defensive coordinator/secondary coach Derrick Ansley. That’s notable because Martin and Ansley are both Alabama natives who eventually made their way to UT.

Martin as a player and now a coach, and Ansley as a coach on two separate occasions.

Personal experience is often the best recruiting tool available and the duo of Martin/Ansley certainly have that.

The Clemson Tigers are expected to also be a major factor in Williams’ recruitment. Currently, Clemson holds all four of the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions that have been cast.

Recruiting, however, can change in a moment’s notice. A great visit next weekend could end up putting Tennessee right at the top for the dynamic wide receiver.
