The Tennessee Vols are among the top schools for one of the nation’s top players in the state of Alabama.
2021 Four-star defensive end Deontae Lawson, 6-foot-3/208 lbs from Mobile, AL, released his top schools on Tuesday evening and the Vols made the cut.

Lawson is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 8 player in the state of Alabama and the No. 16 weak side defensive end in the nation.
In the last month, Lawson, who is also a talented basketball player, has visited LSU, Georgia and Auburn (and subsequently received offers from each school).
As a sophomore this past season, Lawson compiled 89 total tackles (16 tackles for loss), six sacks and three forced fumbles.
Tennessee does not currently have any players committed to their 2021 recruiting class.
