The Tennessee Vols are among the top schools in the country for 2021 four-star defensive back Tony Grimes.

Grimes, 6-foot/180 lbs, tweeted that over the next two years he’ll be focusing on the 15 schools he mentioned and “evaluating these programs in detail”.
The Virginia Beach native is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 player in the state of Virginia and the No. 1 cornerback in the nation. He’s also rated as the No. 12 overall player in the 2021 class.
Tennessee was the second SEC program to offer Grimes. Texas A&M offered the dynamic defensive back on April 3, 2018. The Vols offered on April 14, 2018.
Recruiting is fluid
There’s obviously a long way to go in Grimes’ recruitment, and a lot of things will change. But I expect Tennessee to be very much in the mix for Grimes’ signature when it’s time for him to sign.
Jeremy Pruitt and his staff have already made a huge difference when it comes to recruiting on Rocky Top. That’s a trend that will continue as the Vols progress on the field.
Tennessee, by the way, doesn’t have any commits yet to their 2021 recruiting class.
