The Tennessee Vols added two-star in-state running back Fred Orr to their 2019 recruiting class on Tuesday evening.

Orr, who will be a preferred walk on for the Vols, is expected to sign with Tennessee on Wednesday.

The 5-foot-11/195 lb native of Clarksville is rated by 247Sports as the No. 121 player in the state of Tennessee and the No. 241 running back in the nation.

Orr chose a preferred walk on spot at Tennessee over offers from Air Force, Army, Howard and UT-Martin.

Signing Orr is something that will probably be mostly overlooked, but it’s actually semi-important for the Vols.

Keeping good vibes going when it comes to in-state recruiting is extremely important for Jeremy Pruitt and Tennessee. Adding Orr to the roster, even if it’s not via scholarship, is an important act of goodwill by UT that could pay off down the road.
