Wanya Morris — Offensive Tackle
It’s no secret that Tennessee needs offensive line help in the worst way.
Fortunately for the Vols, some help that can immediately contribute is on the way.
We’ve seen in recent years, across the entire college football landscape, that true freshman can contribute on the offensive line. I fully expect Wanya Morris to be one of those players for the Volunteers.
Morris, 6-foot-5/310 lbs from Loganville, GA, physically looks like he could play in the NFL yesterday. That’s good news for Tennessee, because NFL caliber talent is what it’s going to take to turn their offensive line play around in just a single season.
The five-star offensive tackle is expected to be an early enrollee at Tennessee, which means he’ll go through the Vols’ winter strength program. It also means he’ll be a full participant (barring any injury) in spring practice.
Considering the lack of consistency the Vols received from their tackle positions last season (after losing Trey Smith), I’d be shocked if Morris isn’t starting from day one for Tennessee.
