2020 three-star offensive lineman Cooper Mays, the younger brother of former UT commit and current Georgia Bulldog Cade Mays, recently revealed that he notices a big difference with the new Tennessee Vols coaching staff.

Mays, who has offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and Ohio State, recently told VolQuest he sees a big difference in the way Tennessee practices, saying “I was at practices with the last coaching staff, and it didn’t compare. This new staff has picked it up a notch with their intensity and everything. They just demand perfection.”

That’s obviously a great sign for the Vols.

If there isn’t a drastic change in the culture on Rocky Top, the results won’t change.

There aren’t many things in sports more intense than a SEC football game.

Replicating that intensity, as hard as that can be, in practice is the only way Jeremy Pruitt can prepare his team for what they’ll face this fall.

It’s a bit cliché (I know there’s been enough of that in Knoxville the last five years), but you play how you practice.

Perhaps we’ll see a much different attitude from the guys in orange when they take the field in September.
