If you check out Phillips’ highlights, it’s easy to see why many of the nation’s top programs are hoping to land the talented safety.
Phillips appears to have great ball skills in the secondary. I know the level of competition he’s playing against could enhance how he looks in his highlight package, but there’s no doubt he’s a step ahead of everyone else on the field.
The Georgia native also has great instincts in the run game. Phillips takes great angles to stop runners and he’s also a solid tackler.
Phillips, who runs a 4.50 in the 40 yard dash according to 247Sports, took an unofficial visit to Tennessee on February 24. His primary recruiter at UT is safeties coach Charles Kelly.
