Tennessee Titans starting left tackle Taylor Lewan is one of the more colorful offensive linemen in the NFL.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he took a playful shot at Marcus Mariota’s 2015 NFL Draft “rival” Jameis Winston.

The Titans’ official Instagram account posted a photo on Thursday of Mariota and Winston at the combine in 2015.

Winston ended up being drafted first overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Mariota was selected second overall by the Titans.

There was plenty of debate back then over who the better quarterback would be, and there’s still plenty of debate now (as was discussed on A to Z Sports on Wednesday morning).

But in the mind of Lewan, there’s no debate who was better back then (and presumably now).

Check out the comment he left on the Titans’ Instagram post.

That’s a pretty great throwback “insult”. Part of me thinks it’s all in good fun, but the other part of me knows what kind of competitor Lewan is, so I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s dead serious.

This isn’t the first time Lewan has rushed to Mariota’s defense — and it likely won’t be the last time.

Lewan recently told ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe “I don’t give two f—s what people think about Marcus”.

I’d say Mariota has the perfect person protecting his blindside.
