It could turn out to be a new look at the QB position for most of the AFC South. The Tennessee Titans may be the only team heading into the 2021 season with the same starting quarterback as the year prior.
The Titans are pretty set at quarterback. Ever since getting the nod last season, Tannehill’s play has been as good as any other quarterback you can name.
This season, he finished with 3,819 yards and 33 passing touchdowns. He added seven rushing touchdowns, giving him 40 total on the season.
Tennessee will head into the 2021 season comfortable at the quarterback position, but other AFC South teams can’t say the same.
The Houston Texans arguably have the most talented quarterback in the division. Deshaun Watson is an elite talent in an organization that can’t seem to keep its stars happy.
That is why the soap opera of the organization has commenced.

The Texans star tweeted that out, referring to his anger level with the Texans organization. Reports are now surfacing that Houston’s front office believes he has played his last game with the team.
There is a growing sense from people in and around the Texans’ organization that Deshaun Watson has played his last snap for the team. It’s early in the off-season, there’s a lot of time left, but Watson’s feelings cannot and should not be underestimated.

Unless there is a happily ever after ending to this story, Watson will probably be in a new home in 2021, leaving Houston no choice but to find their next starting quarterback moving forward. Houston would have to do so without their first-round pick.
Do you know who does have a first-round pick, though? The Jaguars. They actually have the first overall pick, and it seems obvious they will be taking Clemson’s quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Lawrence would be another Jaguars quarterback the Tennessee Titans will have to get to know, adding to the laundry list of quarterbacks they’ve started in the last decade alone.
Some analysts say Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect in a long time. One former player I’ve heard him compared to is Andrew Luck. Titans fans are all too familiar with the former Indianapolis Colt.
The Indianapolis Colts have been looking for their next man up ever since losing Luck to a surprise retirement.
The Colts rolled with Phillip Rivers in the 2020 season and went 11-5, only losing the AFC South via a tiebreaker. Rivers announced his retirement on Wednesday.

The Colts could roll with a familiar guy in Jacoby Brissett. He hasn’t given them much of a reason NOT to do so. However, there are options on the table for Indianapolis elsewhere at quarterback.
Dak Prescott will become a free agent this offseason. He had a good season halted with a gruesome injury. Guys like Mitchell Trubisky, Andy Dalton, and Cam Newton are also free agents who should garner interest.
Yet the only AFC South team not going through a quarterback controversy are the Tennessee Titans. I am sure Titans fans everywhere rejoice at that fact.
The AFC South is changing around them at the most critical position in football, yet the Titans can remain put. Titans fans hope that all three teams fail at finding their next franchise savior so the Titans can retain their AFC South crown.
