If the Tennessee Titans go deep in the playoffs in 2018, it will be because quarterback Marcus Mariota had a special season.
Winning the NFL MVP would certainly qualify as a “special season” for Mariota.
According to the latest odds from Bovada, Mariota is 40/1 to be the 2018 NFL MVP. That puts him above names like Antonio Brown, Ezekiel Elliot, Eli Manning and Jameis Winston.

For the most part, I think these odds are fair.
Mariota shouldn’t be a favorite to win the NFL MVP in 2018 based on what he’s done in his career so far. He’s been solid, but he hasn’t been spectacular.
Does he have MVP potential?
There aren’t many players in the league that posses the type of talent and ability that Mariota does. He can make all the throws and he can beat you with his legs. Plus, he has enough size that he can absorb hits from the defense.
And he can also do this:
My biggest issue with these odds is that Dak Prescott is ahead of Mariota. This seems like nothing more than the “Dallas Cowboys bias” in action.
There’s no doubt in my mind that Mariota is a better quarterback than Prescott and I think that will shine through in 2018.
