If anyone on the Tennessee Titans’ roster is in a position to judge a rookie pass rusher, it’s quarterback Marcus Mariota.

The former Oregon Duck has seen his fair share of elite pass rushers during the first three years of his career, going up against division rivals like JJ Watt, Jadeveon Clowney and Calais Campbell.

So when Mariota offers praise for a young pass rusher, it’s probably warranted.

On Friday, after the Titans’ second training camp practice, Mariota complimented second round draft pick Harold Landry on the playmaking ability he’s displayed so far.

Landry saw extended reps on Friday after Brian Orakpo was forced off the field due to an apparent injury.

While Mariota was impressed with Landry, the franchise quarterback certainly wasn’t overwhelmed by him.

I guess Mariota had to remind Landry he’s still a rookie going up against one of the most dangerous running quarterbacks (when unleashed) in the league.
