National Signing Day is in just two days, but the Tennessee Vols are still handing out offers to 2018 recruits.
Safety Dyllon Lester, the high school teammate of five-star defensive backs Tyson Campbell and Patrick Surtain Jr, received an offer from Tennessee on Monday.

Lester is rated by 247Sports as a two-star safety (he’s rated in their composite rankings as a three star).
The Florida native committed to UCF on January 29. His only other reported offer is from Southern Mississippi.
I would guess that Tennessee is offering Lester an opportunity as a preferred walk-on. Even if the Vols strike out on some of their top remaining targets, there are still higher rated players they could take.
Three-star safety Joseph Norwood, for example, is a player Tennessee would probably take before Lester (as far as scholarships go).
Of course this could also be a ploy by Jeremy Pruitt to help lure Campbell to Knoxville.
The Vols are in the mix for the five-star cornerback, but most folks believe he’ll end up at Georgia or Miami.
But if Campbell and Lester are close, maybe it would be enough to swing him to Tennessee.
I honestly doubt that will happen, but I suppose it’s worth a try if you’re Pruitt.
