The Tennessee Vols have a player on the verge of being a household name according to former Auburn Tigers head coach Gene Chizik.
Chizik, who now works as an analyst for the SEC Network, recently made some predictions for the 2020 season and he suggested that everyone “will know Eric Gray’s name by the end of 2020”.

Gray, a former four-star recruit, made his presence felt as the Vols’ No. 2 running back as a true freshman in 2019.
The Memphis native totaled 539 yards and four touchdowns on 101 carries last season.
Impressive numbers, but it was his big-play ability that really stuck out.
Gray exploded in the regular-season finale against Vanderbilt for 246 yards and three touchdowns, including a 94-yard touchdown run and a 56-yard touchdown run.

Vandy can’t stop the run and it’s pouring outside.
It took most of the 1Q but Tennessee finally remembers it’s allowed to run the football.

Senior running back Ty Chandler will also be a factor in Tennessee’s offense in 2020.
But after the game against Vandy last year, it’s clear that Gray should be the top option at running back for the Vols this season.
