The Tennessee Vols found a reason to celebrate on an otherwise quiet Friday.
That’s because 2019 four-star safety Anthony Harris officially committed to play football at Tennessee.
Harris, 6-foot-1/180 pounds from Havelock, NC, committed to the Vols over offers from Clemson, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia Tech, among several others.

This is a fantastic addition for Pruitt and the Vols. Harris, who is rated by 247Sports as the No. 5 player in the state of North Carolina and the No. 8 safety in the nation, is exactly what Pruitt looks for in his defensive backs — tall and fast.
Tennessee’s new DB commit 4-star Anthony Harris had 88 tackles, 9.5 TFLs and an INT at 6-2,165 last season. He’s now up to 180 pounds. “He’s a flat striker. … Long and lean. His best years are ahead of him.” pic.twitter.com/S97vcPgFGI

With Harris’ commitment, the Vols now have nine commits to their 2019 recruiting class, which is currently ranked No. 18 in the nation.
