2020 four-star offensive lineman Cooper Mays tweeted on Friday that he’s committed to the Tennessee Vols.

Mays, 6-foot-3/275 lbs from Knoxville, TN, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 10 player in the state of Tennessee and the No. 5 center in the nation.
He committed to UT over offers from Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Ohio State, among many others.
Mays is the first in-state player to commit to Tennessee’s 2020 recruiting class.
The Vol legacy (he’s the son of former Vol guard Kevin Mays) told Rivals that UT showed him a lot of love throughout the recruiting process.
Mays also mentioned that early in the recruiting process he didn’t think he’d end up at Tennessee, but he expressed that his comfort level with UT is what solidified his decision to commit.
The older brother of Mays, Cade, was committed to Tennessee under previous head coach Butch Jones. But when turbulence hit the program he ended up decommitting from the Vols and signed with Georgia.
While it would’ve been easy for Cooper to follow his brother to Georgia, he decided it was best to chart his own path.
With Mays’ commitment, the Vols now have 10 commits to their 2020 recruiting class.
