Two former Tennessee Vols will be hoping to land a roster spot with the Tennessee Titans.

Alexis Johnson and Quart’e Sapp are each receiving rookie tryouts with the Titans.

Johnson transferred to Tennessee in 2016 after playing two seasons at Fort Scott Community College. He took a redshirt season in 2016, before playing in 11 games in 2017. This past season, Johnson played his best football at Tennessee, accumulating 50 total tackles and three sacks. In a two week span against Georgia and Auburn, Johnson had 13 tackles. If Johnson is able to latch on with the Titans he could provide the franchise with valuable depth along their defensive line.

Sapp chose to forego his senior season at Tennessee to enter the 2019 NFL Draft. He went undrafted, but he’ll get a chance with the Titans to prove that his versatility at the linebacker position can be an asset for Mike Vrabel.

According to Paul Kuharsky, the Titans can sign two tryout players without cutting anyone from their current roster.
