The Tennessee Titans have a brand new weapon in first round draft pick Adoree’ Jackson. Now the Titans just have to figure out how often to use that weapon.
Jackson was the third cornerback off the board in last week’s NFL Draft. Not only is he expected to be a day one starter on Tennessee’s defense, but stats like the one USC offensive coordinator Tee Martin dropped on Titans fans Thursday, makes you want to see him with the ball in his hands.
“At the time we did (the stat),” Martin said. “Every fourth time (Jackson) touched the ball it was a touchdown. No matter how he got the ball, whether it was in the backfield, throwing him a pass, kickoff return, punt return, sack-fumble. It was just an unbelievable stat.”
Jackson scored 15 total TDs in his three year USC career. His scores came in four different ways: receiving (6), punt return (4), kick return (4) and an interception return. Did Martin’s stat hold up trough all three years? No. So, we’ll just have to go by the honor system on this one. But, it’s not far out of the question.
The entire interview with Martin was fantastic. Jackson’s recruitment, freak athleticism, football intelligence, versatility and personality were discussed.
