Stanley Cup Viewing Parties Announced: Games 3 and 4 at Home to Take Over Lower Broadway with Live Music
May 26, 2017
Preds Parties for Away Games 1 and 2 to be at Walk of Fame Park
Live music and big screens will take over Lower Broadway on June 3 and June 5 for the free Broadway Smash party, when the Nashville Predators take to the ice in Bridgestone Arena for their first home appearances in Games 3 and 4 of the fabled Stanley Cup Final. A pre-game concert featuring special guest artists will start at approximately 4 p.m. Artist names will be announced later. The Broadway Smash: Preds Party with a Purpose events are free and open to the public to give fans a way to cheer on the team together downtown.
On June 3 and June 5, a stage at Fifth and Broadway will face the Cumberland River, with large screens at the stage and in other locations. Broadway will be closed between Fifth Avenue and Third Avenue. The site will open at 3 p.m. with the concert at 4 p.m., pre-game broadcast shown starting at 5:30 p.m. and the game shown on screens starting at 7 p.m.
“Nashville knows how to celebrate world-class sports with world-class music and the world’s best hockey fans,” Mayor Megan Barry said. “Only in Nashville could you have A-list artists on hand and excited to help the city come together for great music while we cheer on our Nashville Predators. We can’t thank the fans enough for their enthusiasm and all the Metro agencies and community partners who will make these events possible.”
Sean Henry, President and CEO of the Nashville Predators, said, “The excitement at these parties has been as electric as what we’ve seen inside Bridgestone Arena. This is a great way for us to thank the fans and accommodate our growing fan base. We know we could not have made this historic run without the support of the most important member of our team – the seventh man, representing all the fans.”
“The community response to the viewing parties has been overwhelming,” said Butch Spyridon, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. “With the eyes of the hockey world on Nashville, we have another chance to demonstrate why this city is such a great destination, and we are ready to accommodate our Nashville fans and the world’s hockey fans.”
Preds Party in the Park will be held at Music City Walk of Fame Park for away games on May 29 and May 31 (Games 1 and 2), as they were during the Western Conference Final. A large screen will show the pre-game broadcast starting at 6:30 p.m. with the game at 7 p.m. Official merchandise will be available for purchase, and DJ Robert Luke will be on hand to entertain the crowd.
During all the parties, Predators mascot GNASH and the Predators Energy Team are scheduled to make appearances. Food trucks will be on site, and sodas and beers also will be on sale. Bottled water and hot dogs will be available at low, family-friendly prices.
Attendees are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to Walk of Fame Park. At the Broadway Smash, lawn chairs and small bags (no bigger than 12×12) will be allowed. For public safety, new house rules will be strictly enforced. No coolers, backpacks or large bags will be permitted at any of the parties. Complete list of house rules
