The Daily News is reporting that Tennessee has expressed interest in Jets defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers to be its next head coach.

Kacy RodgersRodgers is from Humboldt, TN and played for the Vols from 1988-91. During his time at Tennessee, the Vols won two SEC Championships and played in the 1990 Cotton Bowl Classic, 1991 Sugar Bowl and the 1992 Fiesta Bowl. He began his coaching career in 1994 as the defensive line coach for UT-Martin.

Rogers has been a defensive coach in the NFL since 2003, making stops with the Cowboys, Dolphins and most recently with the Jets.

The Daily News has reported that it has yet to be determined whether Rodgers will interview for the job.
