According to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Middle Tennessee is set to hire Nick McDevitt as their new basketball coach.

The Blue Raiders began a search for a new head coach after Kermit Davis was announced as the replacement for Andy Kennedy at Ole Miss.

McDevitt, a native of Marshall, NC, has spent his entire basketball career at UNC-Asheville. He played there from 1997-2001. McDevitt became an assistant on the Bulldogs’ staff upon his graduation in 2001.

In 2011, McDevitt was promoted to associate head coach. He was named head coach in 2013.

Under McDevitt, UNC-Asheville has had three straight seasons of at least 20 wins. In 2015-16, McDevitt led the Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament, where they lost to Villanova, the eventual national champions.

UNC-Asheville has won a share of the Big South regular season championship the past two seasons under McDevitt.
