When 2019 five-star offensive lineman Wanya Morris first started the recruiting process, he didn’t think he’d end up playing for the Tennessee Vols.
But thanks to Jeremy Pruitt’s honesty and genuine approach to recruiting, Morris, who is from Loganville, GA, signed with Tennessee in December 2018.
“I respect honesty more than anything, and I saw the vision he had to rebuild and be a part of something different,” said Morris during a recent appearance on the “The Slice”.
Morris added “Coach Pruitt came in in flip-flops and a shirt. He was just honest, and he was just a real person. He was just genuine, and I feel like that gets you a long way.”
Another reason Morris ended up signing with the Vols was because he wanted to be part of the group that brought Tennessee back to an elite level.
“I wanted to be one of those ones that helped get Tennessee back to where it used to be, and the adrenaline just pumps when I think about that and just know that we are going to be great.”
If you’re a Vols fan, that quote should get you fired up for the future of Tennessee football.
It’s clear that Morris is passionate about returning UT to its former glory. And it’s also clear that he truly believes the Vols are going to be great under Pruitt.
There’s been a major culture change on Rocky Top thanks to Pruitt. Fans should probably start changing their expectations for Vol football, because it sounds like UT has a roster full of players ready to take the college football world by storm.
