The Tennessee Vols have a new head coach.
(That’s a phrase I’ve typed way too many times over the last decade.)
Recently-hired UT athletic director Danny White hired Josh Heupel on Wednesday to replace Jeremy Pruitt as the Vols’ head coach.
White previously hired Heupel at UCF in late 2017 to replace Scott Frost.
What should we make of this hire?
Well, there’s a LOT to unpack. Charlie Burris and I did our best to break down the good and the bad of the hire. There are no orange sunglasses in our analysis — but we don’t slam the hire, either. We do our best to give an unfiltered and fair assessment of Tennessee’s newest head coach.
